The Prayer Motivator Minute #638

02 Jun

John R. Rice said, “If people go without prayer, their ministry will be ineffective, and in proportion as they pray themselves and they are lifted up to God in earnest prayer by others, their ministry will be powerfully moved by the Spirit of God to the saving of souls.”

Our prayer motivator passage from the Word of God today is Psalm 35:13 which reads: “But as for me, when they [my enemies] were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.”

Our prayer motivator quote today is from Henri Nouwen. He said, “Why is it so important that you are with God and God alone on the mountain top? It’s important because it’s the place in which you can listen to the voice of the One who calls you the beloved. To pray is to listen to the One who calls you ‘my beloved daughter,’ ‘my beloved son,’ ‘my beloved child.’ To pray is to let that voice speak to the center of your being, to your guts, and let that voice resound in your whole being.”
